When we pray for our enemies, as Jesus taught, we can pray this psalm against the Evil One who tries to harm us.
Protection from the Lord (verses 1-3)

We can commit our cause to God, calling on Him to wage war on our behalf. Christ who is with us has overcome the world, giving us his protection.
Protecting Lord, we turn matters over to You. Contend with those who contend against us; fight against those who fight against us. Thank You that You are our salvation.
